Package Discription

This is our most popular Everest region trekking introduction. This walk passes through the Sherpa people's famous Buddhist towns and temples while providing unrivaled vistas of some of the world's highest peaks. The days spent trekking above Namche Bazaar are the highlights of our trip. We go beyond the official pathways beneath Ama Dablam's magnificent flanks. We have a beautiful 360-degree mountain picture from our exceptional vantage point, which culminates in the iconic summit of Everest looming above the Nuptse-Lhotse wall. A visit to the Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung, where we examine some of Sir Edmund Hillary's projects built through the Himalayan Trust, adds another depth to our walk.

Itinerary

Flight to Lukla (2,850m / 9,350ft) Trek to Phakding (2,650m / 8,562ft)

The Ama Dablam trip begins with a picturesque flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. To get to Phakding from Lukla, you'll have to climb for about 3 hours, passing through smaller communities like Chaurikharka. All Everest region treks begin in Phakding, which has a plethora of shops selling gear and souvenirs, as well as cafes, restaurants, and other amenities. You have complete freedom to explore Phakding once you arrive. Rimishung Monastery should not be missed.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,285ft)

We start our walk today after a nice cup of tea on a chilly morning. We proceed down the Dudh Koshi River's northern bank, crossing multiple suspension bridges with prayer flags. The prayer flags will add a splash of color to the trail, making it more thrilling. After a few hours of walking, we arrive at Monjo Village, the starting point for the Sagarmatha National Park. We go to Sagarmatha National Park to get our permission and then continue the trail through the deep bush. We got our first glimpses of Mount Everest from this jungle. We'll keep hiking till we reach Namche Bazaar, the Everest gateway.

Rest day and acclimatization at Namche Bazaar

To cope with the thinner air, we acclimate at Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar provides a diverse range of services. Namche's downtown districts include practically everything, from hotels and restaurants to souvenir and gift shops. Despite the fact that it is an acclimatization day, you will not be idle. A climb to Khumjung and a visit to the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center are optional but recommended. On your journey to Khumjung, you can also stop by the Hillary School and historic monasteries. On your way up to Khumjung, you'll pass by a famous monastery where locals think a Yeti-scalp can be found. You will also visit Syangboche Airport, which is one of the world's highest airports.
